What We Mean by 'Agentic'
Not chatbots. Not RPA with a face. We mean systems that act on the world, take economic risk, and can be held accountable for outcomes. Here is the line we are holding.
"Agentic" is the most overloaded word in the industry. Here is the line we hold for the buildathon.
The bar
An agentic system, for the purposes of this build, must:
- Take real action in a system of record — not just summarize one
- Carry economic risk — a wrong action costs the operator real money
- Be accountable — every action is attributable, auditable, and reversible
If a submission can be replaced by a prompt and a human-in-the-loop button, it isn't agentic. It's a copilot. Copilots are useful. They are not what we are funding here.
Why this matters
The interesting research questions of the next five years are not about model capability. They are about how you let a non-deterministic system touch a deterministic ledger without breaking trust.
That is the opportunity set. Build for it.
Why the Caribbean, Why Now
Forty million people across fifteen jurisdictions. One coordination opportunity the rest of the world is about to face. This is where agentic AI gets tested against the real world.
